To Manchester, With Love

Seven years ago, God allowed me to meet Pastor Ed Prescott. He and his family went out of their way to welcome me into their home, their family. I am forever grateful and indebted to them. Now this seven years later, God has allowed our paths to cross once again.

Our church, E. Sligh Ave Baptist Church in Tampa, FL, has a discipleship program called TeenLife. Each year, after 30 weeks of intense Bible study, Scripture memory, and Christian service, the teens who complete the program are rewarded with a mission trip. This year God has opened the door for us to go to Manchester, NH, and, more specifically, the Cornerstone Baptist Church, pastored by Bro. Prescott. We are all thrilled! We cannot wait to get up there in the summer of 2010 and help out all we can.

In the meantime. my hope and prayer is that God will knit our churches together in this endeavor. I trust that this blog will help accomplish that. My goal for this blog is for those of us here at the E. Sligh Ave Baptist Church to post updates on our fundraising efforts, testimonies of God's hand in our lives personally and in the life of our church, and random encouraging thoughts. In turn, I hope that many of you from the Cornerstone Baptist Church will do the same. We want to rejoice with you in your answers to prayer and pray with you in your times of great need. We are in this thing together.

I believe God is not through working in our great country. I believe He still has a work to be done in Tampa as well as Manchester. Our God is able to exceeding, abundantly above all that we ask or think. I want to trust Him for that, by faith.

I can't tell you how excited my wife and I are about this upcoming mission trip! I know God is going to bless it. He already has done some incredible things.

God bless you all.
